District Dindori, is situated at the eastern part of Madhaya Pradesh touching Chhattisgarh state. It touches Anuppur in east, Mandla in west, Umaria in north, and  Bilaspur district of Chattisgarh State in south. It is 144 Km from Jabalpur on S.H 22, 104 Km from Mandla and 88 Km from holy place Amarkantak. It is located at 81.34 degree longitude and 21.16 degree latitude.The holy river Narmada passes through the district. It is situated at a height of 1100 m above sea level amongst herbal-rich, Maikal mountain ranges. 

It was created on 25th May, 1998 with total 927 villages. The district is covered in seven block namely Dindori, Shahpura, Mehandwani, Amarpur, Bajag, Karanjiya  & Samnapur. The Baiga are very primitive tribes which can be found only in this district. The Baigas are known as the "National Human".

DIC setup:-

District Informatics Centre (DIC) at dindori  was established in 15th Jan 1999. Initially 2 rooms were given for the centre. One additional room is provided to establish Video Conferencing facilities on 27 Nov 2004.

1.      NREGA, for monitoring   the 100 days employment being provided to the rural poor in the district.

2.      Bhu Abhilekh 3R4.0,  facilitating distribution of computerized  khasra and b1 form to the formers in the district

3.      Agmarknet, for daily reporting of food grains,arrivals and prices in the district to the national portal.http://agmarknet.nic.in.

4.      MP Local Area Development (MPLAD) ,for local monitoring and reporting ,of work/funds received by the Honorable Member of Parliament in the district

5.      Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), for monthly reporting system of ICDS activities of Mahila & Bal Vikas, in the district

6.      Below Poverty Line (BPL)  , facilitating  quick report of BPL data of the District.

7.      Public Distribution  System (PDMS), facilitate monitoring of Distribution  progress of    Fair Price Shops (FPS) in the district

8.      PHEMIS- WaterSoft , for monitoring of Phe Department activities in the District.

9.      Jila Panchayat (DRDA) Project monitoring system, facilities online monitoring of the different schemes in the district.

10.  Parakh,Basic Amenities and services for monitoring the basic facilities created /provided by the different department in the district.
