Project Akanksha has been envisioned as a e-learning platform to encourage and promote the tribal students of the district by facilitating their preparations of Joint Entrance Examination for admissions to top Engineering Institutes in the country. Dindori being the most backward districts of Madhya Pradesh, has often faced the issues of quality teaching and quality resources to fully capitalize the true potential of the astute students of the district. And Project Akanksha is reducing this gap by leveraging the potentials of ICT(Information & Communication Technology) and providing the state of the art infrastructure where the deprived bright students of the district can get quality technical education, equipping them to compete at higher level of competition.

Objectives

Infrastructure

District Administration has devised a process for selection of 50 students from ClassXI and 20 students from Class XII for a respective two year and one year JEE preparation program. Thus selected students are offered admissions in Government Excellence School at the District headquarters. Vacant seats in tribal hostels from across the district were pooled to make way for the establishment space for a 50 seater boys residential hostel, which has been housed in a recently built BRGF building. Detailed tender processes were followed for procurement of materials and necessary infrastructure. This 50 seater residential hostel now boasts of well maintained, spacious dormitories along with a well furnished library-cum-Study room and an independent kitchen-cum-dining space for boys thereby offering a clean, comfortable and homely environment for study.

Similarly, Girls selected through the extensive selection process has also been accommodated in a spacious SSA’s girls hostel equipped with a modern library, study room and recreation centre.

Learning sessions in the classrooms are held in two state-of-the-art Video Conferencing Studios, equipped with the high quality technological infrastructure for the seamless and dedicated video conferencing experience. The VC studios are boasted with a 4 Mbps dedicated lease line from BSNL and also an RF link from SWAN as an alternate connectivity.
